How we review

PrivTech is an independent privacy hardware directory. We do not sell products. We list items worth considering for builders, preppers, and privacy-conscious buyers — with clear labels for how each listing was sourced and reviewed.

Scoring rubric (v0)

• Category fit — product belongs in the pillar taxonomy (mesh, routers, tools, etc.).
• HTTPS vendor URL — official or primary purchase destination uses HTTPS and resolves.
• Image accuracy — hero image matches the product; broken or misleading images are fixed or suppressed.
• Affiliate flag accuracy — Affiliate and Via PrivTech badges reflect actual routing and commission relationships.
• Editorial sentence (Tier A) — flagship listings include a human-written rationale sentence explaining why the item is on a kit or featured surface.

Tier A vs catalog sync

Flagship (Tier A) listings are hand-curated for kit pages and high-trust surfaces. They show Last reviewed with a dated editorial pass.

Standard listings passed automated quality gates (URL, image, category) but may not have a full editorial review. They show Catalog sync with the last metadata refresh date.

Exclusions

We do not list signal jammers, ITAR-controlled items, or products whose primary purpose is unlawful interception. See our disclosure page for affiliate independence policy.
